Pokémon TCG 2026 Release Calendar: Every Confirmed Set Coming This Year

The Pokémon Company is going all out for the 30th Anniversary year. We've already seen three major expansions in early 2026, with more on the way. Here's every confirmed set so far.

Released Sets (January - May 2026)

Mega Evolution - Ascended Heroes (January 2026)

The year kicked off with Ascended Heroes, focused on legendary and mythical Pokémon. This set had a staggered release with products rolling out through April.

What was in it:

• Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex as chase cards
• First Partner Illustration Collection featuring Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile
• Premium Poster Collections available March 20

Mega Evolution - Perfect Order (March 27, 2026)

The first major expansion of the year, Perfect Order brought Mega Zygarde ex into the spotlight.

The most recent set to release. Chaos Rising focuses on the nighttime city of Lumiose, with Mega Floette ex and Mega Greninja ex taking center stage.

Upcoming Sets (Summer - Fall 2026)

Mega Evolution - Pitch Black (July 17, 2026)

The next major expansion, officially announced by The Pokémon Company on April 30, 2026. This dark themed set pulls directly from the Pokémon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC.

New mechanics:

Storm Emeralda (Japan - July 31, 2026)

While not yet confirmed for English release, Storm Emeralda drops in Japan on July 31, 2026, featuring the inevitable Mega Rayquaza ex hype. Based on typical release patterns, expect an English version in late 2026 or early 2027.

The Big One: 30th Anniversary Set (October 2026)

This is what everyone is waiting for. The Pokémon TCG 30th Anniversary special expansion is confirmed for a global release in October 2026.

What to expect:

• Classic Collection subset with 30 cards featuring vintage reprints
• Fan favorites like Pikachu, Mew, and Mewtwo confirmed
• Anniversary stamped promos exclusive to this set
• Textured foil formats with premium finish on chase cards

Expected chase cards (rumored):

• 30th anniversary stamped Pikachu & Zekrom GX
• Lugia from Aquapolis era with updated holofoil
• Original Kanto starters with special artwork

Investment note: Similar anniversary sets like Celebrations saw 30-50% gains in the first year. This is expected to be the most significant collector set of 2026.

What's After Pitch Black?

The Pokémon Company has been moving at breakneck speed for the 30th Anniversary era. With Storm Emeralda already confirmed for Japan on July 31, we can expect a few more things:

1. Another English set in late 2026 or early 2027 following Storm Emeralda
2. Special holiday collections in November and December
3. Potential collaboration sets for the anniversary year
